WHAT DO YOU COUNT (ON)?
What you count either sublimely or intentionally will determine your focus in a moment, in a day, in a season, and/or in our journey. Do you count on money? Success? Praise from others? Do you count the worries, the challenges, the negative things, the fears? These are all coming from a world view. A view dependent on what we can see and what we have (or don’t have). A view where we seek control or align with those that have control if it orients with our needs and wants. However, it is a view that is based on us being flawed people that have a sin-nature; are incomplete/broken; and are limited in our abilities to control the future.
The alternate is a Savior (Christ-centric) view where you count your blessings; the promises God has delivered; what He has protected you from. A view that calls to mind that when things are challenging that they often could be worse. A view that has you looking at all the details of your life as fitting in God’s plan. Counting with a Savior view of the world changes our priority, our hope, our attitude, our behavior, and how we look at things in our moment by moment living. What you count will determine the type of view you have - world view or Christ view.
