MIND THE GAPS

An important part of our prayer time, our worship time (including our Scripture time), our community time, and how we life out our faith in our daily living is getting a perspective on the specific gaps between our faith and our practice of our faith.  Do you practice what you preach?  Do you apply what you learn from Scripture?  Do you demonstrate in your daily living how You view God, who He is to you, and what you want others see Him as?  The more we tighten up those gaps by being intentional in practicing in our being (both internally and externally) an integrated faith life, the more congruous you become in His righteousness (the right standing Jesus earned for us on the cross).  The more congruous you become in living out God’s best for your life.  The more congruous you become in the sanctification process (becoming more in the likeness of Jesus).  It is in the gaps where we have our greatest exposure to the Enemy getting to us.  It is in the gaps where we are prone to be swayed by the allure of sin (self gratification apart from God).  It is in the gaps where we provide footholds for the Enemy to influence our thoughts, words and actions.  Don’t keep your faith life separate from your daily living.  Practice your faith life in all you think, all you say, and all you do.  All the elements of your life (vocation, possessions, community, and self) came from God and are controlled by God.  Be a good steward of what God gave you, is giving you, and will give you by applying your faith life in all your thoughts, words and actions.
