HOLE

We were all born with a hole in our heart, a void, something missing.  From a young age on, we seek to find out how to fill that void and embark on finding what it will take to fill it.  It takes us on a pursuit of:

• Hanging out with the cool crowd.

• Doing what the cool people do.

• Chasing a career.

• Pursuing money.

• Striving for that “right” relationship/boy/girl.

• ....and on and on.

Each of these require “payment.”  We have to earn ourselves in.  We have to in essence pay for them.  None are given free and for sure are not paid for by someone else for your benefit.  Not true with Jesus.  We were created by God in His likeness which is why we have a void when we do not have him central in our life.  Jesus is the only one that fits that void. But is gets better.  We do not have to earn or pay for Him to get Him to fit that void in our heart.  He paid for us (through His sacrifice on the cross) so that we will have the free gift of Him to fill in that void.  Without Him, we will continue to fill that void with things and pursuits that will never fill it and at best are ill fitting.  They will fall out or fall through the hole of that void.  The pursuits are not meant to fill in but are meant to be externally viewed and pursued when the void is filled with Jesus.  Thank you Father for Your perfect design for us as imperfect beings.  A perfect design that requires Jesus in our void to complete the design to commence our transformation to move us from our fallen nature to a nature more aligned with the characteristics of Jesus who lived as a man (while still being fully God) so we would have evidence of His existence and His nature.
