CONTROL

The hierarchy of this world is based on control.  A pursuit to control our destiny by controlling our present.  A daily competition within ourselves and externally to put ourselves in control to achieve what we want and desire as outcomes.  A control that is anxiety filled for we never know if it is going to play out the way we want it to. It is an instigator of stress though that anxiety that only gets relieved when the outcome is the one we want which is why we want to control.  However, the truth is that we have no control over the future.  Best laid plans (controlled plans) are often destroyed by unseen future circumstances.  Economic recessions, family calamities, and illnesses are examples of future occurrences that destroy our controlled plans.  The good news is that just because we have truly little control, God is fully in control.  It is us planning today for what makes good practical sense for family, health and wealth but also being open minded that how it plays out is in the hands of God.  To be open handed and open hearted in the efforts of our plans that the things that happen next and in the future are guide rails to put us on the path that is God’s plan.  That our plans are modified through that process to align with His.  A plan in which God is fully in control of a future He does know and know about for us.  It is aligning to His control so that our anxiety is replaced with hope (assurance).  Our stress is replaced with joy (knowing that He has it all figured out).  Our toil and strive replaced with best efforts in today for the future He has planned for each of us.  It removes the all encompassing effort of our control and replaces it with us being available.  An availability in which we find instruction and guidance for today followed up by fresh instruction and guidance tomorrow.  There are always thoughts running in our heads.  When we try to be in control, those thoughts are stress filled, anxiety filled, and demand filled.  When we allow God to be in control, those thoughts become more liberating and free flowing.  In that free thought sits the framework for the instruction and guidance.  Try it and you will see.  Father, thank you for giving us a mind not only to solve but also to converse with You.  A conversation in spirit that becomes guidance for our thoughts, words and actions.  Thank you for giving me Your voice in my thoughts.
