What We Want
We want to do life on our own terms until we don't get what we want or things don't develop as we want. Our terms go from being in command to commanding help. The problem is that our starting point is flawed because we think we have full control (but we do not). God gifted us and created us with talents, gifts, and abilities to use them in a daily life with him (not without Him). Not to empower us to be solo operators but as empowerment to be in His glory (power) with Him. We can put forth efforts in our own pursuits but God directs those efforts to outcomes that are according to His Will and His plans. We can either be part of a journey of cooperation with Him in His flow or we can have a life of consternation and friction when we buck His Will and plans. We can either have joy and peace (knowing that we are in His hands) or frustration in applying our efforts, gifts, and talents (as He bends us to His Will and plans). He lets us choose the journey but He is in control of the outcome(s).
I alone know the plans I have for you, plans to bring you prosperity and not disaster, plans to bring about the future you hope for. - Jeremiah 29:11 GNT
