Blessing or Complaining

Am I living a life of blessing or complaining? Am I counting my blessings or keeping track of my grievances (complaints)? It is easy to complain because I put my favorite person (myself) in the center of my thought life to determine what I deserve, want, and need. Easily done due to the nature all of us are born with. A sinful nature. Sin, as we think of it, are just symptoms of what we do when we are apart from God. The root of sin is living separate from God which leads to thoughts and actions that contradict who we really are designed to be, God’s adopted children. As His children, we are designed to bring him joy by pursuing His nature. A nature of love, giving, and sharing. A sharing of who God is, who He is to me, and who I am to Him. A life of pursuit of Him and His nature where I live in His promises and look for His blessings that are the extension of His promises. Blessings that can only be seen when I put God in the center of my thought life to see how much He has provided, He continues to provide, and how He is for me. Complaining about lack in my life is a thought life where I replace God in the center of my life with me to determine all that I deserve, want and need. Complaining leads to grumbling that ultimately is grumbling against God. When we grumble about our circumstances we are like that 2 year old that throws a fit about not getting something they want. They are throwing a fit against their parents about what they believe is an injustice of their desire(s). Living a life of blessing(s) is living a life with God in the center of my thought life. Living a life of complaining is living a life of me in the center. I choose God!
