God’s Mind
Prayer is not about changing God’s mind but rather prayer is about finding God’s mind. It is seeking for His thoughts and mixing my thoughts with His in conversation. Earnestly seeking what He is about, who He is, and who I am to Him. Not mindlessly but mindfully. Contributing all my thoughts in my conversation with Him and allowing Him to change my mind (not me changing His). Not washing away my thoughts but reformatting them. A conversation where thoughts of frustration can be turned into acceptance of doing my best and trusting Him to do the rest. A conversation where selfish thinking can become thinking of myself less. Where hurts and pain become ingredients to pursuing an understanding that has a greater and broader understanding from God’s perspective. A conversation that take the thoughts of what I have read in Scripture (the Bible) and actively trying to understand what it is saying to me. It is a conversation where by seeking God’s mind (matching up my thoughts with my thoughts derived from reading the Bible) change happens in my thought life leading to impact in my thoughts, words, and actions. Prayer changes me which changes how I see and deal with circumstances. Father, guide me always in seeking and finding Your mind.
