Obedience is a Gift
Obedience intertwines our free will to God’s Will. It makes our thoughts, words, and actions purposeful and intentional not to do it alone (to do it with God) nor do it for self (other focused) (https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Romans+12%3A2&version=GNT). Obedience is not about submission out of fear of breaking rules but rather a strong desire of reverence of love of being so grateful (in awe) of a generous God. An honoring of Jesus for the sacrifices He made that gave us salvation and who showed us the ultimate obedience in carrying out this task (https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Romans+5%3A19&version=GNT). Obedience is a gift we can give to God as our small way to thank Him for all He has done, is doing, and will do.
Our free will is an amazing gift that God designed us with where we have freedom to do what we want. Surrendering (contributing) that free will (not losing our free will) into an intertwining relationship with God is an endorsement of who He is to us (our Father) and who we are to Him (His beloved child) (https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Proverbs+16%3A9&version=AMP). This obedience does not create a slaved limitation but rather taps us, through this intertwining, into God’s unlimited greatness, goodness, and power (https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Psalm+128%3A1&version=AMP).
Obedience is a strength not a weakness. Obedience is a celebration not a loss of freedom. Obedience is access (to the fullness of God) not a limitation.
