WHY YOU NEED TO PRAY

Skipping prayer is telling God, “I don’t need You.”  That you have a way that is better than His way [READ Proverbs 3:5-6].  It is the ultimate act of pride of choosing your way over His (divine) wisdom [READ James 4:3 & Proverbs 11:2].  You fundamentally need divine guidance and divine involvement in your life, but how can you expect to receive it if you don’t seek it (prayer) [READ Romans 8:26]?  It is keeping in the forefront of your mind that every time you pray, you are coming to the One who holds it all together [READ Psalm 145:18].  The One who is the Creator of heaven and earth and of you.  It is coming to Him (prayer) consistently, daily, and purposefully to tell Him that you need Him and to honor Him as the Creator of the universe and as your Maker - your Father.  It connects you to God, it is an active way to love and connect with others [READ James 5:16], and it makes room in your heart for God’s correcting voice.  Prayer is the lifeblood of your walk with God [READ Ephesians 6:18].
