ANSWERS

The Gospel is not a story about Jesus. The Gospel IS JESUS which is why the Gospel provides  joy, power, and grace.  All of these come from Jesus, are Jesus, and Jesus freely gives to His people.  Our tendencies are to take the Gospel (Jesus) and add our “but also” to it.  Such as the promise of answered prayers spoken for in the Gospel and we add works to it to earn answered prayers.  Such as having faith as spoken for in the Gospel and we add our human efforts to get things done without Jesus at our side.  Such as trust as spoken for in the Gospel and we withhold part of our trust as a hedge because we think it depends on us.  The answer is Jesus for all things without adding anything to who He is.  That is the Gospel - the Good News.  Jesus!
